2025 Mission Trip

The Point Church Missions team is about making a difference and we are looking for YOU.  Our next mission trip to the Dominican Republic will be in 2024. If you are interested in joining, use the “Contact Us” section below to contact one of our team members.

If you don't want to travel, you can become an important part of the team while staying here in your hometown and helping with fundraising, spreading the word, and praying for the team.

Our 2020 Missions Team returned from the Dominican Republic in March 2020. Check out our recap video to see some of the highlights from their trip.

We will be going to the Dominican Republic with Servant's Heart Ministries, which is a charitable organization dedicated to transforming generations by transforming individuals and communities.

They are a Canadian charity registered with Canada Revenue Agency and are based in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. The base for their work in the field is in Sosua, Dominican Republic.

  • We will be going February 7-14, 2025.

  • Sosua, Dominican Republic. We will fly into Puerto Plata and travel from the airport to the resort by bus as a team. Our accommodations will be at Sosua by the Sea, 10 to 15 minutes from the job site. We will leave the resort each day by approximately 9:00 am to go to the job site, return to the resort for lunch from 12:00 - 1:00 pm, then back to the job site until 5:00 pm.

  • Our goal is to build a home, attend a pregnancy clinic, and do some outreach to the children of the community. Depending on the interest, we also have the opportunity to do health checks in schools. No matter what skills you have or may not have yet realized, there is a job for everyone. Experience is an asset but not necessary. There will be staff on the ground to direct us.

  • The cost for the 2024 Mission Trip is $2,150.

  • The primary language in the Dominican Republic is Spanish. We will have interpreters at each site we visit.

  • Fill out an application as it will give us some history and an idea of your skills. You will need a desire to help others as God has commanded us to do and a commitment to help fundraise. Without funds, we won't have any materials to work with. You will also need a valid, up-to-date passport and should also consider vaccinations. Contact us if you require additional information.

  • You can be a contact person for various tasks, including fundraising. Spread the word, and please be in prayer for the team!

Helping Babies and Families Thrive

Danica's Dream Pregnancy Education Centre is located in the Dominican Republic and is supported by Servant's Heart. The program helps moms who are poorly equipped to care for their babies and themselves. With YOUR help, moms learn the vital skills to keep their babies healthy and thriving!

Through their “Earn While You Learn” program, moms are rewarded with much needed supplies like diapers, clothing, blankets, baby toiletries, and more importantly, the skills needed to care for themselves and their babies.

With every $31 donated, you are ensuring that a baby and their mom are receiving the education to lead healthy, happy lives for a whole month.
